Dark Matter There is so little known about dark matter that it cannot be detected by even the most high tech instruments! It is completely invisible to light and other forms of electromagnetic radiation. As a result of this, there isn't a lot of detailed information about the fundamentals of dark matter, only theories and strong beliefs. Not only does dark matter exist, there is also another thing that takes up empty space in the universe; dark energy, which is slightly different from dark matter. All in all, there are more things that are unknown about dark matter then known.
